  1. Agreed. It would have been rude not to have a punt at such an affordable price. Its a bad habit. I buy a car for cheap. Spend a stupid amount of money to bring it up to a decent standard, then normally sell at a massive loss. Got to have a hobby havnt you?
  2. Took it for a long run to shake it down and it runs a lot smoother, quieter and idles level after the service. I'm really happy with it. I know its just a shitty base Lupo 1.0, but they all deserve a bit of care and attention.
  3. As it ad done nothing wrong this far, I treated it to a couple of decent part worns too. After that, it got a good wash.
  4. With all the "major work" done, I decided to try and get a proffessional to do the simple stuff. We got to the cambelt just in time I recon. Looked original. That looks just about ready to Pop to me. New water pump, cam belt, oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter were fitted and the longevity of the little Lupo was extended.
  5. The light on the heater panel was out so I guessed a bulb was out. After looking at the very helpful "how to" guide, I gathered some tools. And set to work. Out, little broke thing. New one in. Hooray! Thank you for repairing me Dave. Would you like to play chess? And then there was lights.
  6. Mot was passed with no advisories so I gave myself a pat on the back and set to improving. Get ready for the exciting bit! I put a new wheel trim on! Calm down, I didnt stop there.
  7. Swapped the dented steel wheel out and the kindly tame local garage were kind enough to swap out the wishbone and rod out and whack it in form an MOT. Out In
  8. Good evening all. Having had just about every marque of car ever built, other than VWs, I couldnt resist a Lupo when one popped up for sale just around the corner. Its been run into a kerb, bending a steel rim, a wishbone and a rod. Other than that, it seemed sound so I made a cheeky offer.
  9. Evening all. I've had a fair few cars but never a VW until now. I bumped into this lovely little nugget for sale just around the corner at a price that made it rude not to hand over money and drive it away. Cleaned it up and popped a couple of part worns on. Scrubbed up pretty well. First impressions were good. Theres nothing not to like about these little nuggets in my eyes. This one has a few jobs need doing but its sound enough to warrant a bit of love. I know its not a gti, or a slammed, cambered scene stealer, but it'll do me fine. Cheers all. Forum looks great. I'm off for a look around.
