  1. mine was grinding/crunching every time i went into reverse, and was proper stiff to get into 1st 2nd and 3rd... it finally gave up on friday on my way back from work...called the AA and he said it's the pedal bracket not pulling on the clutch cable. Garage reckons its mostly all labour so no more than £100. Fingers crossed thats the problem and i don't need a whole new clutch :s
  2. Hey guys, my 1.4 mk1 Arosa has always been a bit stiff in the gears but recently, it's been getting noticeably bad. It crunches EVERY time I go to put it in reverse, it sometimes pops out of reverse, it is really resistant to go into gears (especially first) and all this, even though my foot is right down on the clutch. It's always had a high clutch (don't know if that's the same for all Arosa's/lupos but my bite point has always been stupidly high... Could it be a problem with either the gearbox or clutch? or could it just be getting on a bit? also, if anyone has had problems like these, how much did it set you back to get it fixed? Cheers guys!
  3. Friend found this exhaust on ebay and told me to get it because "it looks cool and will sound awesome" - is this true? and will it make a difference to the performance/fuel consumption of my car? cheers guys! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-SHARK-GRILLE-EXHAUST-TRIM-PIPE-FOR-SEAT-IBIZA-LEON-ALTEA-AROSA-HJ012-/270826438165?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f0e837e15#ht_5341wt_1411
  4. sooo...was going round a roundabout on monday, just normally and then the engine completely died...managed to roll to a lay-by on the side of the dual carriage way luckily. Towed it to the nearest garage and they say it's the camshaft AND the crankshaft sensors gone...they say it costs about £80 + VAT each for the sensors...that doesn't include labor or anything! Personally, i think thats a bit steep as i had a quick look on tinterweb and found them for no more than £40 including VAT?! So was just wondering if anyone has a 1.4 V-reg Arosa SE (pre-facelift) that i could grab the part no. from for both of these sensors so i can make sure i dont order the wrong thing....cheers guys!
  5. My fuel filler cap doesn't lock. I turn the key to the right thinking that this will lock it but it's still unlocked. Is this a common thing to happen or shall i just buy a new, lockable one? Cheers guys
  6. pretty sure there are about 3 screws in the wheel arch then should just be clips
  7. Thank god for that i'll do it tomorrow hopefully then i have some auto-glyme tar remover left over from debadging the rear so that should do most of the work (hopefully) cheers for the reply though!
  8. I want to remove the black side door bumper things...but are they glued on or bolted? I don't wanna rip it off and find out there are holes in the door...cheers guys!
  9. Sooo...it's done!! put them in yesterday between the breaks in the rain Sounds superb! Quick question though...does anyone know how to take the grills out of the door panel? Wanna put the ones i got with the speakers in
  10. Got the speakers and mounts delivered this morning...they look great. They actually came with some of those dodgy metal things you linked me to so i should be in business as soon as the bloody rain stops
  11. i've ordered these... http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/autoleads-sak3106-seat-arosa-1997-165mm-front-doors-speaker-adaptor-p-3004.html will that not be enough to mount it?
  12. Sweet! Will check it out and post some pics when it's done I'll contact you if I get stuck
  13. Oh is it that simple? Sound! Will give it a go when the weather gets a bit better then
  14. My standard arosa speakers in the front door panels need replacing...badly! I've blown them to bits so they just crackle at any level of bass :/ sad times. Anyway...I took the door panel of to check the size and noticed they are riveted...? I've got some new speakers and the adapter ring thing on order but can someone explain how I'm supposed to get the old ones out?! I've seen people say drill it out but how? With a standard drill..? I'm new to all this stuff so any help will be greatly appreciated!
  15. Anyone have any idea where i can buy a new Electric window switch? looked online and couldn't see anything obvious...its just the drivers side switch gone so don't need the full unit, just a new switch will do..cheers
