  1. hi folks, i've just fitted all the cruise control stuff and wired it all up, i live near portsmouth, is there anybody local to me that could activate the cruise for me please?
  2. i've made a start sort-of, but i'm having real trouble getting the airbag off... it's giving me absolute balls ache now... any tips??
  3. there are plenty of original equipment parts you can use from a 1.4 lupo, but that is the least of your worries, it's making the damned thing run that will cause you the most grief..... a kitten gets slaughtered every time this question gets asked
  4. i've got the stalk from the t4 van, i dont like the idea of soldering the terminals so i went to the scrap yard and cut the loom plug off an octavia tdi (same ecu plug) then robbed some wires from it leaving a length of wire still attached to the terminal, also got some amp sureseal waterproof 4 pin connectors to do the rest, i'm still puzzling over where to get the switched live from, i'm planning on tapping it off the clutch pedal switch (subject to a bit of head scratching).... thankyou bigdog, pm sent
  5. no they dont have the right terminals on them
  6. hello, sorry to revive and old thread, but can somebody clarify something for me please.. if the black wire (enable) is connected to a switched live does that mean the cruise control is on all the time even if the stalk is in the off position?
  7. hi folks, i not been on this site for ages.... but here's a favour i need to ask... has anybody got a photo of the lifters/rocker set-up in the 1.4 16v lupo engines please??
  8. yes it will fit, no problems at all, except that the 1.6 engine uses shorter head bolts
  9. looks like quite a nice kit.... dont lik what they've done with the throttle linkage tho, dont know how reliable that'll be in the long term
  10. just as a footnot to yor original post, it's not good practice to run the engine/gearbox with no wheels fitted.... it wrecks the diff

    lupo gti cams

they will fit, but i dont recommend it. the profiles are totally different, remember, the gti has variable valve timing
  12. if you are using an eaton roots type supercharger, then you dont need an oil feed/return... they have self contained oil resovoirs
  13. no the ecu etc is fine, but be carefull when sourcing engines from other cars like the golf etc because sometimes they have slightly different mounts, covers, etc... but these can easily be swapped from your origianal engine

if you look at the mk4 golf engines(1.4 16v) in the breakers yard you might find a bracket you are looking for becuase some of those have the ancilleries in different positions failing that you could use an electric power steering pump from a 9n polo instead of the belt driven ones the n stick the ac compressor at the bottom
  15. yeah, the sport 16v box is a direct transplant for a 1.4..... be carefull when 'choosing' a box because some of them(mostly from the 1.0) have a different sized spline on the first motion shaft
