  1. Nice to have some one who owns one on the board. What's it like to drive? I have been looking in to a more eco friendly car and short of a hybrid the Lupo 3L is as good as it gets. What sort of drivign do you do to get 85mpg as you can almost get that out of an Audi A2 1.4TDi with a bit of care and the right type of driving? it just seems that there is a lot f technology just to get a few mpg more. Also would you be able to enlighten us as to how much these sell for in europe and where is best to look for one?
  2. Anyone ever seen one of these in the UK? With MPG like that I bet the emissions are well under 100g/km. Prius beating stuff that!
  3. Sorry, I posted the wrong info before about the cost. They carried out a 20,000 miles service (which as you rightly say is everything from the 1st service plus the pollen filter). They also did a brake fluid change as it is due after two years apparently. They charged me 130.20 + VAT for the labour and 20.25 + VAT for the parts, n.b. this doesn't include the oil as I provided it. that makes a total inc VAT of £176.78. And free of charge came that lovely, awre inspiring, residual improving, & pocket emptying VW stamp :0)
  4. I spoke to Guy at opie today and he gave me some info on what to use and why. I have suggested he e-mail me his recomendations and also what discount he would do for possible group buys. I have gone for the muts nuts. This is the silkolene Pro R and it's on special at the mo' for only £36 inc P&P. It goes in tomorrow when it gets serviced so I'll let you know.
  5. I can't believe no one is using either a Silkolene or Mobil 1 product. Has no one looked in to the new esther type synthetic oils? I have always relied on Opie Oils to recomend the best for all my cars (this isn't an add honest). You tell them what you use the car fro and what it is and they make recomendations based on that. I have asked them for the Lupo GTi and whill post when they reply
  6. This is my first post so first hello to everyone. I have just bought a Lupo GTi and due to there being no recrd of the first service I have asked my local VW dealer to combine the first and second service (to make sure my warranty is OK). They have come back to me with a quote of £260 which seems a little dear to me. I have used them for years though and they have always ben the cheapest in the way of proper VW dealers. I'll get a checklist of what is done on each service and post it later this week. As for the pro's and con's of using VW. If you have a good car i.e. reatively new and desireable (such as a GTi or TDi) then I would say it is worth having that stamp so you can claim a FVWSH. Just my opinion but the combined peace of mind and the enhanced residual values are enough to swing it for me.
