  4. We had a massive spike in spam the other day (Monday) but it's been back to normal since. Unfortunately there's nothing to stop humans signing up, and the bots are getting cleverer with the old Captcha! systems, so it's never going to stop being a problem As Ray says, just flag it and it'll be stomped on.

    Awards...

We were discussing this the other day - traffic around these parts is about 1/2 what it was 18months ago, most people are on Facebook now for their social stuff, but it's not just this forum it seems so it's no personal We'll get the 2013 Awards up and running and commence the voting.
  6. It's just the VTEC switch I never got my head around - I understand the principle, but for 90% of the time on the day-to-day you're only using upto 4000rpm so I'd rather have a nice, torquey V6/V8 to hussle around in. That being said though, when you really get a chance to use it, it is something special; I remember driving back from Reading to the Midlands in my ITR, it was late so roads were empty and I don't think I ever dropped out of VTEC. Chassis on the ITR is exceptional and very friendly, so you can take a lot of liberties. At the moment though...I've got my eye on Caterhams. I need to know what the fuss is about....
  7. Can't afford a Z4M at the moment I'm guessing your Z4 had the sports suspension option? If so, I have been told that's best avoided... Sold the VXR8 to free up some funds for a house move. Loved car, bit of a lardy beast but never tired of the V8 noise and torque; 16mpg stung a bit, and they cost a fortune to own; servicing is cheap and they're as simple as cars get, but parts costs are insane - mine looked like it needed a new gearbox soon, that was £3k plus the clutch at £800. Rear diff is £2.5k, bumpers are £2k (new), side skirts are £800 each....I never had a service that was less than £600 (£400 to change a rear wheel bearing!!!!!). Managed to get two punctures (!) and the tyres were £1200 a set... Glad I owned it, and I really enjoyed my time with it - but can't see me owning another as I don't think the running costs are justified against the marque or the build quality. Definately need another V8 RWD soon...just a shame options are so limited.
  8. Get something with 6+ cyl and never look back! I'm guessing you don't mind paying a bit more on the insurance judging by your choices R32 147 GTA Z4 3.0 350Z Monaro (although that might be pushing it, insurance wise...) VX220 (not 6 cyl...but still)
  9. Bit of a topic bump. Did you drive a (non-M) Z4? I like the S2000, but the lack of all-or-nothing in my ITR drove me insane, and going back to that (after a string torquey V8's and V6's) doesn't really appeal. A 2.5/3.0 Z4, on the other hand, might be a good alternative?
  10. North One TV are looking for a Lupo GTi owner who's willing to have their car appear on TV - if you're interested, drop Sarah Swift an email - sarah.swift@northonetv.com
  11. L88 UPO? I was under the impression that plate got sold on! According to this thread: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/9853-bright-green-lupo-in-walsall-l88-upo/ It's on a green Lupo, according to two different 'spots' - although the DVLA check I did at the time said it was still on a Silver GTi!
  12. Working OK here on my (works) iPad? I'd test it on an iPhone, but I've got a proper phone
  13. This forum is for larger scale Lupo projects - engine conversions, rebuilds and total overhauls which are regularly updated by their creators. Start by posting in Members Cars, and it'll be moved here by one of the moderators if and when it fits the criteria. Thanks!
  14. I'm not convinced for a second that Ghillie was capable of registering an account. I mean, surely paws lack the accuracy to type properly on a keyboard?? Anyway....email verification was only fixed on the 10th of Feb. Any accounts registered prior to that would need to have the email resent. I did tell the system to do this for any accounts done in the last few days before the 10th....but some may have been fixed. Either way, it all seems OK now, so any problems, just try to register again.
  15. Rob, As per other site, didn't realise there was an email issue - shoud now be resolved
  16. Apologies, slight config problem on the email settings for the new server. Fixed!
  17. Oh, and you click "mark solved" on the actual answer, not the original post - the wording they've chosen for it is poor - should really be "best answer"
  18. Done! It was a feature they'd introduced in the new version I didn't know existed. Turned it on only in the required sections, like mechanicals, etc - but there's now a "mark solved" button. Which I'll test on my post
  19. Hi! Due to the software underpinning CL needing a major upgrade, it was decided to start fresh on a new server. I'm glad to say that the transition went rather well - or at least, it seems to at the moment.... I've fixed a few issues, but if anyone comes across anything - errors, white screens or anything strange, give me a nudge and I'll get it fixed. Thanks! Matt ---------------------------- Fix list : - Portal Page not displaying
  20. It will happen. But really, gotta wait until the end of the year. What is something awesome happens on December 31st and it wasn't in the nominations? I'll have the Lupo Police on my doorstep.
  21. I bought a D5100 as my first "proper" camera after my Canon G9 - but the D3200 seems to have loads of good features for a beginner too so that's worth considering. Picked Nikon over the Canon as it felt better, and images seemed cripser. Not much in it though, try both brands. Re: the flip out screen - I *love* this feature and use it alot; great to get angles you can't normally get through the viewfinder. I do miss my quick ISO adjustment dial I had on the G9 through...
  22. As far as I can tell, there are a few issues with the app: 1. Upload limit - I think I've sorted this, as its now 20mb. I would have thought that would be plenty? 2. Image size - I think I can change this, how would you prefer it to be limited? 3. Bumping - this was never allowed on the old forum method, so thats a moot point. Any others?
  23. It's a dictatorship hiding behind the pretence of a democracy. You only have these polls because I allow it
  24. The Classified app and its issues - this is already being discussed as to the best way to move forward with this. As John says, there are benefits to both. I've already upped the storage limit which should fix any issues regarding upload space - this is now set to 20mb which should be plenty - if you want to host hi-res pictures for extra detail you can do this with another service and link via the main advert if required. Unfortuately, there is very little I can actually change via the classified app - things like upload space/size, setting required fields and other minor details are possible. We were very lenient on this, but any bumping was against the rules anyway.
  25. Have you got any adverts listed already? The 5mb limit is a total across all adverts...
