big lad replied to lambo-27's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
The difference isn't really that big. I tried on some 175/45 13 on and it barely read different to standard -

Bit of an update. I called around and was told worst case scenario it would be £160 plus Vat if i removed the head myself. If it was done at the garage it would be about £200 on top of that. Hope this helps -

my 1.slow is doing exactly the same! i knocks quite a lot, and smokes on start up and a little whilst driving and the guy in the local stealers said it was 99% going to be valve guides that was causing this. i also have an engine light and the code on mine said EGR function out of bandwidth aka its f**ked. i have replaced the cam followers and big ends following what others have said and wished i'd gone to the dealers sooner. i don't know if anyone on here can give an estimate for what replacing the valve guides will cost? -
I think we have a scotty mk2 ob our hands here. Im on -60mm weitecs plus a bit of sink ill get a pic up when i get to a computer

Gutted about the car i drive that road a lot and that roundabout is evil. I've had understeer at 20 around there. Looking at the previous work you'll be up and running in no time. Are you local to towers or just visiting?

Mine always used to miss if you remove the arm and spray a little Wd40 or similar light oil in the pivot it loosens it up and hey presto! One blade with perfect contact. Works with mine and i'm using the crap valeo blades

The 16v box can fail really suddenly. I had mine replaced with a recon part a month later I pulled off from a roundabout and it just failed. Big bang, no drive and a huge oil slick. Leek Transmissions refused to replace it even with a year warranty -
Speedo stuck off the clock.

My rev counter sits about 2k over just after i've changed my oil it slowly drops afterwards but only when the car is turned off. Not sure whether this is the same issue -
I have a 1.0 litre lupo (AUC I think) and it rattles really bad on start up and goes a little quieter after thati have tried putting heavier oil in (10/40 istead of 5/30) but this hasn't worked. It's got worse since ive had it andi was wondering if anybody knew how to sort it. I've heard its the hydraulic cam followers not filling properly. I just don't want the engine to go pop because I cant afford anothet
