  1. never though of doing it tha way! Shame I work for a joinery now instead of a fab shop
  2. they're threaded? Had a bit of a mare with the 17's. They went on ok but before I had chance to roll the arches right out one caught the tyre on a test drive and popped it. New tyre on the way and I will get them to work. Also the drop plates work really well off my mk3 wagon. So well in fact that I had to put the adjuster rings back in and nearly all the way back to the top to get the jack out haha
  3. Does any one know of any where to get ball joint extenders for a lupo? Or if others will fit like off a polo or mk3 golf etc? I've got my coilovers on mine now with it's temp wheels for my mk3 ( 17" TSW Venoms). Had to do a fair bit of arch work to stop the fronts catching, notched it, ordered a track rod flip kit, going to see if my mk3 drop plates will fit over the weekend to get the back down to match the front and now I'm thinking of ball joint extenders. Also noticed the ARB bushes are totally knackered so it keep twanging really lound so there is another one to add to the list. I'll get some photos over the weekend for anyone who is interested in how the Venoms sit...
  4. Anyone got any ideas on how to remove the rear drums if the brakes are sticking on slightly? Tried beating them with a hammer but I only made a big pile of rust and felt like I was going to brake something. Just trying to put on new hubs but looks like I’m going to need new brakes now too thanks Alex
  5. I’ll just try them ones in then. Hopefully they’ll work so I can get nice and low on my temp 17’s
  6. Does anyone know of any drop plates for lupos? I’ve got a set for my mk3 wagon and instead of pissing around with chopping springs and shorter shocks, I was wondering if there are any for the loop? thanks alex

  8. They’re just on mk4 frames still. Went straight in
  9. Hi, I’ve got my mk4 recaros in the lupo tonight but they don’t quite sit flat. Does anyone have any suggestions to straighten them out?
  10. I'm not too bothered about declaring to the dvla. I was running an e36 compact with an m52b28 undeclared. Loads of fun but I kept braking it so had to get shot. Just want something to have a laugh down a good B road in again. I'm sure it cant be that difficult to do the swap if I could do the BMW right?
  11. So it hasn't taken me very long to realise that the sdi is great on fuel but isnt what you'd called 'thrilling' to drive. I'm thinking PD conversion once I've gotten my wagon back on the road. Ive seen that a few people have done the conversion but I'm struggling to find any info on mounts and driveshafts. Can anyone help? Thanks
  12. Hi, so I picked up a cheap 1.7 sdi a couple of weeks ago which needed a few bits doing, nothing major just service, wheel bearings and a blow in the exhaust welding up. I finally got a chance to change the oil, filter, air filer and fuel filter. But on the way home the brake pedal goes hard as if the vacuum goes after pressing the pedal onc3 (had a bit of a squeaky bum time when slowing for a double round about!) does anyone have any ideas before I start looking at stuff which I'm not very confident with. Brakes are not my forte. Thanks Alex
  13. Could just drop the full ahu in there I suppose like. Won't be for a while yet like. I still need to finish my mk3 wagon
