  1. Sound mate cheers I've just found the Alpine MRP-M500 500w RMS @ 2ohm. Class D Mono block. £145 brand new. Good choice?
  2. Sorry to bother you again pal.. Just looking at amps and I've found this: Brand: Alpine Amplifier Type: Mono Type: Mono Channel RMS Power: 300w x 1 at 2 ohms MPN: MRD-M300 Would that be ok to power my sub: [subwoofer Power Features] • Peak Power 1500W • RMS Power 500W • Frequency Response: 24Hz - 500kHz The sub can be run at either: Thanks.
  3. Just pricing wood up now mate gunna go buy some later. Ive measured it a bit low I can go right up to the bottom of the lid which is handy as this sub sticks out a lot! Ill let you know mate thanks a lot!
  4. Haha sorry mate thats looking into the boot from the back of the car. Ill search through that thread it looks good mate cheers! Your a star.
  5. Its gunna be sealed if I can so box is smaller. Drafted up a quick measurement guide and 2 possible locations for the box is there anyway i can work out a box size to fit? The width of the boot at the bottom of the seats to the boot lid is 43cm and the top of the seats to boot lid is 20cm.
  6. Spotted this amp? Reckon it will do the trick? Im sure I can wire the sub at 4 ohm. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alpine-MRD-M300-V12-600w-300w-RMS-Class-D-Mono-Car-Amplifier-/390528263983?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item5aed4c672f
  7. Not sure on the clearance underneath could I have it the other way then? Box might have to go into the spare wheel I think. This is the spec for the sub I got from manufacturers website. SPECIFICATIONS Power Handling 12" Subwoofer (2ohm + 2ohm) Power Range: 200 - 500 Watts RMS Power Handling: 500 Watts Peak Power Handling: 1500 WattsDimensions Mounting Depth: 195 mm (7.7'') Mounting Diameter: 275 mm (10.9'') Displacement: 0.071 see you. ft (Front Mount) Added Volume: 0.085 see you. ft. (Reverse Mount, Magnet Out)
  8. Managed to get a picture together of what I'm hoping to achieve. Its not to dimensions or anything its just a rough idea of what I'm planning. Reckon I can keep the spare wheel like this?
  9. Nice one mate so I could have the box running like a rectangle under the floor and in the spare wheel hole? Ill try draw a picture later and post it on to show what I'm wanting to do. Budget is about £200 but I know a lot of cheap places for amps just don't know what amps to buy. Thanks a lot mate.
  10. Hi there! My names Joe, Ive got a Seat Arosa 1.0 Mk2 in blue. Its my first car and I'm new to all the modding etc but I am willing to learn! Basically my issue is: Ive bought an Alpine Type R SWR-1222D Subwoofer in a ported box. The box is far to big for the boot and im wanting to find out first: Can I build any shape box as long as its the right volume for the sub? Im wanting to raise up the boot floor and mount this sub backwards so the frame is facing into the boot using the spare wheel space to hopefully fit a box. What amp/wiring kit is best to buy for this sub? I dont want to spend loads on the amp to be honest as the sub has cost me next to nothing. (Reclaimed debt). The sub is 500w RMS I think but it's 4 and 2 ohm which is where I'm confused. All help will be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot
