  1. Thanks for the comments guys, glad there's alot of you who approve style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Yes I like blue cars... well I also went for a dark colour so's not to draw attention to the black plastic bumper and I know black is abit of b!tch to clean/keep looking clean! @ Luke - I'll be keeping this bad boy standard for a while! The car cost me enough without modding it already! Plus its more than enough power for my liking atm style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> His first outting is probably No Rice this Wednesday... so anyone going...eyes peeled please style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  2. Someone had to start this off... geez guys, how slack are you all?!?! Happy Birthday Jon style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> !! Deja-vu... haven't I already said this today? hehe oh and glad you got the card... I've said that too right? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Hope you have a good one anyway style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  3. Well guys, I have kept this one fairly quiet... Lupo now has a big little brother who I'd like you all to meet... Picked him up from the stealers this morning, all new, shiney and lovely. The GT is my first car that I've bought brand new so felt really nervous but at the same time dead excited going over to see and collect him. Deinitely worth the 16 weeks and 5 days wait (ordered 10th July) and has plently of the border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> With just 10miles on the clock!! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> Back home, settling in border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> And just to show you... Lupo and his new big little brother border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  4. Piccies of those who I "spotted" in the car park Saturday... Who are you? Silver GTI 54 plate a few rows away from mine border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> A 51 plate silver GTI next to X-reg green one (1 litre I assume) with a TOWBAR!!! Parked along the straight near the chicane after quarry, near the toilets border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> Also spotted a dark green (possible 1 litre) with the 13" alloys (like Sarahs) parked behind me, a girl driving who had L plates on as she drove out
  5. Thanks for the reminder John! What a nightmare that was! My lupo was just 3 ½ years old when I first found "the dreaded" (mine is a 2001 Y-reg btw), VW are assholes, no point bothering with them if any of you are unfortunate enough to find anything on your cars See my thread HERE if you fancy a read of the fault with my lupo border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> You get the idea, but remember folks it is rare so don't go getting worried style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  6. £160 for the day, £90 for ½ day, normally people book in advance but there's normally spaces still available on the day It won't be the slowest, I've seen alot of people there who just go on for a casual cruise round, not wanting to thrash their cars to the limit, so you'll be fine. Just go in a session with BadgerBill in his Ibiza - he makes every b*gger look slow style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I will be around somewhere spectating, so will look out for you all style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  7. I seem to post this event every year but still none of you go! But anyway, FYI, I am going style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Has been a really good show past couple of years and some great track action to watch. I know its another Autometrix event but its one of their better attempts and spectator entry is only £5 Had a rather spacious club lupo stand last year when folks failed to turn up, so I'm not doing that again!
  8. Twas a good day, wind burnt like hell mind you! Glad the rain cleared up which made it more of a pleasant day. Nice seeing the regular faces again, not that I was around with you guys long, sorry I had others to see style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> My sisters boyfriend, Robin, didn't have much luck though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> click here for pics and story
  9. If you have another one in MK, someone please pm or msn me if I don't see the thread as I'll come along if I'm not busy style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I was not around Saturday anyway, too busy ragging a mk5 GTI on test drive, watching the football and trespassing in Blenheim Palace style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  10. That's ok I kinda forgot you were meant to be "working", there's me gabbling on style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I saw a Y-reg silver GTI in the queue on the way in (dunno who that was?) and the black one doing the sprint. My loopy was in the car park, fairly close to the front but Kam and Robin gave me a club stand pass before lunch so I invaded Club Polo's stand style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Bloody hot day, no surprises I have major sunburn (again) but good show overall I thought. Glad I actually went and tried it rather than join the majority of all the "sit on the internet and moan about what it might be like" people... no offence style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Sorry no pics from me as quite franky, I couldn't be arsed to take any style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  11. I'm not new, but I'll look out for you Luke and come say hello and have a natter style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  12. I should be there and I'll go on the stand as well
  13. In comparison, my graphs looked like this: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> and border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> 99.2bhp @ 3.5k revs and 184 lb torque at 2.5k revs were my best figures So I beat you on torque mwahahaha style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I don't get any smoke though at any revs, well not that I or anyone else has noticed style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> With my driving I managed 110 miles with a needle above 3/4 tank style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> With Stu's driving, 246 miles on £20 fuel, just smidgen over half a tank - supposedly 55.9mpg (I so didn't work that out, he did, if its wrong! lol) Overall I reckon mine is better style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Well done on doing it all the same Al style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Welcome to the remap world!
  14. Don't think anyone spotted me on the drive home yesterday either style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Although I got a look and a nod from a mk2 dark green golf GTI on the A45 style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Look out for me and my "car tart" at next months NR style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  15. Hi all style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Been abit quiet from me on here recently, yes I'm still alive as is lupo (I'm sure you're all pleased to know!) Hope this is the right section but I'd just like to put in a recommendation for a new VAG specialist garage that I used for the first time yesterday for my service, MOT and cambelt change. The company is as per the title, they're in Brackley (Northants). I first heard of them from an advert in Volkswagen Driver magazine on my search for a VW specialist for loopy as I can't be doing with VW-robbing gits anymore. 3 guys run the show, namely Ed Jackson, Andy and Nathan - all of them previously worked at AmD in Bicester, with whom I have dealt with before ( style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ) They have now set up a servicing and performance tuning company of their own. Link HERE. I was quoted (and I paid) £143 + VAT for a 5yr service (incl brake fluid, my expensive PD oil, air/oil/fuel filters and fault code check etc), £45 for MOT and £206 +VAT for cambelt Grand total of £455 These guys are real down-to-earth people who certainly know their cars, whats right and wrong and all of them have the talk like they have the interest in VAG cars. They're not just in the business for the money (unlike robbing VW stealers). They explained stuff to me (which being a girl I don't get often!) and even took my dads car in on the ramps (as he's havinga knocking suspension problem atm) and let him have a look under the car for himself and gave him loads of advice, even past their opening hours style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I did say I'd plug them some support on here, being as they're a new company and I want to highly recommend them style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> (cue all of you saying how much I throw away on service prices...but I'm not listening style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> ) So anyone who lives local to Brackley (or maybe not so), give them a go and mention my name style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
