  2. I've now had a more indepth look. It took me 20 minutes to find it, after going through the list of connectors under the bonnet, which seems endless! The 47 pin connector on the ABS control module should have a plastic shell casing on the back, to stop water ingress etc. The cap is as long as the connector block and tapers off at one end. The price for this cap would be £6.00 inc P&P. Unfortunatley I don't have a picture of it, as there's none shown. Regards, Dale.
  3. Hi Chris, Yes, I've been trading since November last year I think it was. I have been carrying out some mail shots a few months back. I must have overlooked you, I do apologise. I've had a quick look and I cannot see a protective cover listed for the ABS pump wiring loom connector. Is the wiring just exposed then? Perhaps a picture might help! Regards, Dale.

  5. Yes, they are the same, as long as the model is not a GTi or and SDi as they are different. PM me with the registration numbers of each and I'll be able to give you the definitive answer.

  7. Have you checked the key fob battery, as these can affect the alarm going off, if there's a partial implausable signal from the remote when you press the button. Change the remote battery as matter of course too!

  9. Yes, it would, because, if the switch is fautly, then (when the vehicle is above standard operating temperature) there would'n't be any feed going from the switch to the fan. Some models have a seperate switch, which is actually screwed to the radiator body itself. Let me know the regsitration number of your Lupo, then I'll be able to check this for you. PM me if preferred.
  10. As for the cooling fans not coming on. The cure will be the coolant temperature sensor. You already know the symptoms as the temperature gauge doesn't always read correctly, which shows that the sensor has an intermittent fault. Replace this sensor, £22 including postage (comes with the seal) and you'll find that both problems will potentially be solved. Regards, Dale.

  12. That all sounds good to me! As for the intermittent temperature reading. I suspect you'd require a new coolant temperature sensor, as these do fail quite a bit. Let me know if you'd like a price for one.
  13. The break in the hose could be futher down, whereby the leak is exiting in front of the rear wheel. It'll be one of those jobs, that'll be, "seek and you shall find". Bearing in mind that your Lupo is now 16 years old. 122k miles is below average mileage. Average mileage would be around 160k. Does the gearbox feel okay to you? And is the clutch pedal travel quite high? As Lupo's that have been driven hard, do suffer from gearboxes, especially around this sort of mileage. If the above is fine, then you may have got a bargain. It's hard to say without seeing the car for myself.   14. Regarding the leaky rear washer pipe. You can find the broken hose, (which I suspect is where the hose goes through the boot lid grommet, a known pinch point) slide some heat shrink tubing over it, heat the pipe with the heat shrink upon it gently, thus sealing the pipe, no more leaks. Be careful not to singe the pipe (let it get too hot) otherwise the leak will appear again. I do keep heat shrink tubing in stock. Although you can buy little packs of it in Halfords for a few pounds. Regards, Dale.
  15. Halfords used to keep these, I'm not sure if they still do. Just measure the tip of your current exhaust. Or place piece of paper over the tip, to gain an imprint, in order to measure it. Go onto eBay (for example) or Demon Tweeks to find the shape and style of the one you're looking for. I used to sell them 20 years ago, but alas no longer.

  17. Hi, I know that a friend of mine once dropped an 1.8 Audi TT engine in a 6N2 Polo, with a lot of adaption. So your cenario maybe possible. As for the sticky residue, Autoglym Tar & Glue Remover is just the product you need, it's about £6 from Halfords. The whining noise, could be the clutch release bearing, but without hearing it for myself, it's hard to diagnose via email. Check on-line for wheel specialists? Regards, Lupoboz.
  18. Hi Davedex, Yes, there is a seal at either end of the plastic pipe, which, as you say is held by a plastic 'c' clip. You should eb able to catch most of the coolant, by placing a clean tray underneath the car. Let me know the registration number of your car and I'll price the necessary parts, if you like.   19. Genuine ones from VW are now obsolete. eBay is the way forward here, currently!
  20. The plates I can supply are like the ones in the second picture, darker. The central name I can also change to what ever text you like. Or to have none at all if preferred. The British Standard Mark (BSAU) will be on there, but it'll be like the one, yellow, rear example, as above.

  22. Okay. I've had a quick look into this. On a VW there is an engine loom section which has around 9 connectors upon it. One of which going to the air mass meter and then going off elsewhere. I've spoken to a friend who works at a Seat dealership, where he tells me that the engine loom (or the section you need) only comes as part of a complete new engine loom, costing around £2421.26 + VAT. The section that VW list for a Golf with the same engine, BXE would cost £301.67 inc VAT retail. (for vehicles with air conidtioning) Now I'm not sure if this will be 100% correct as there are sometimes anomilies when interchanging some Seat and VW parts over. Especially with vehilce wiring. The loom section that VW make, is on back order, as they have to be made to order. Normally a 2-3 week waiting time. What I'd suggest for you to do is, either; Find a breakers yard where there is a Leon with the same engine (BXE) and a similar year. Find a loom on the internet, that someone may have removed from a car for example. The part numbers that I've managed to obtain are the following; Seat Leon Complete Engine Loom 1P2971050 VW Golf & Jetta Wiring Loom Section 1K2970922BD or BP. Let me know what you think.
