I like the fact that the boot is small. Bigger boots just tempt you to put all sorts of crap in get full of rubbish. This is the cleanest boot I've ever had. I think they look small, solid and well proportioned. I don't like my aftermarket sunroof as it leaks. Need to get it in to get it fixed this summer. Ray

I think the GTi would look awesome in white. Flat would be my preference, but candy or pearl would be nice too! Just keep the black erm... black for contrast! Ray

I buy my cars to suit what I'm going to be doing in it. I would like a GTi, but seeing as 90% of my driving is around town I can't really justify one. So 2 small/frugal cars are more practicable for me at the mo'. Especially as we don't often require 2 cars: the Arosa has done about 4k, and the Punto 6K in the past year. If I were to be doing a lot more mileage I would look for something with a bit more 'spirit'. I also think it's not so much the speed thing with most people, but the fact that everything else is higher spec also, which makes for a more comfortable motoring experience. 'Spring only'drops come in: 30, 35, 40, 45 & 60mm Anything over 40 recommends uprated dampers too, but it has been done without. I'm on 45mm with standard shocks and whilst at first you notice a difference, it's not long before you think a family of badgers could lodge in your wheel arches. If you're going for coilovers I'd say, unless you can get a good deal on springs, save your money and put it towards them. Personal choice Adam K. After all you wouldn't want to be forced to buy a VW would you now. And for the record I have both. PC for serious work and gaming and iBook for photography, music and surfing... Using the PC is too much like being at work! And the iBook fits better with the decor in the dining room. R

Went for a nice walk up Birnam Hill in the spring sun and had a snack and a hot drink on the top in the snow flurries (...the promised storm never came!), listened to Ray Lamontagne's new album in the car. Gave her my memories and my thoughts were of her! Ray

What colour is your car? Yellow GTi? Is that the one with the Hi Lupo type reg? If so it's a 1.4 with a centre exhaust and a body kit. I'll keep my eyes open for you. Ray
