I've pre-ordered black ops instead. Would rather twiddle on that and get gt5 later, i've waited several years, a few more weeks wont hurt!

Hello mate, bad news about your lupo, unfortunately I don't think aluminium bonnets like what you get on GTI's from the factory are produced anymore, just steel replacements, you'd have to find a scrap GTI with a good standard bonnet on it if you are seriously after a genuine original bonnet.

I doubt they will be, too old skool now, altho they have been developing it since the lupo was still in production!! I was gutted that forza 3 didn't have any in.......cant wait for gt5 tho!

I seem to remember any regulator I've removed from an alternator have the brushes attached to it already mate.

What would I need hardener for? Couldn't I just smooth them, prime them and then gloss black them? That'd be the finish I'd go for. Not really done this before so forgive my ignorance!!

I know it sounds obvious but have you checked the belt. If all is ok it could be either the alternator on it's way out, which can be reconditioned, or the brushes on the regulator could be about worn out, that can be replaced individually if it's that that's causing the fault. Other than that it could be a wiring fault, but I'd start with those alternator related bits first mate.
