  1. Whoa whoa whoa!! How come you get to be Batman?!? If anything you should be The Joker, I should be Batman!! You think my pointy shoes will go with the outfit tho?? Plus you never said if you wanted to get involved with that cuddle or not........
  2. I've upset you haven't I, you want a cuddle?? I'm sorry.
  3. I'm actually a truck mechanic, so I'm not allowed to wear my pointy shoes till I've finished my shift unfortunately. Like I say, there's always room for banter, and yeah abit of piss taking, but surely that can be kept for people you're matey with and know how far you can go with, not with strangers who aren't as clever or technical as you are. When I'm on here I'd like to help people one way or another, even when they're being pretty stupid. And I know you do to under certain circumstances, but what would you rather do, just leave things how they are so you can get hot under the collar at how vague and almost pointless some topics are, or give the newbie's a chance to put over their questions in a way that allows you to dish some of your wisdom out??
  4. Obviously the second one, and once again your totally spot on, but maybe instead of finding more wonderful ways in which to make people look and sound as stupid as they appear to be, we should either just generically post a link on their thread that takes them to a part on the forum terms and conditions relating to the formatting of questions, if there is one, I'm not sure that there is, and if there isn't one then maybe you should, as the more experienced member of the two of us, bring it to one of the moderators attention so that they can make newbie's aware that they do need to be as specific as possible with the questions they ask and on the information they're after, and how they are to put it across to the public forum. Because cynical, sarcastic comments thread after thread doesn't look good. Agreed?
  5. I wasn't talking about the o/p, I was talking about the lad who I quoted. We all know that most people on here aren't going to do the conversion no matter how much they talk about it, but I'm trying to look at the bigger picture and although I totally agree with you about this other fella who kinda hi-jacked the thread with ridiculous questions, and I did say in the first place that he did deserve abit of a jab at him from the more quick witted members that see these sorta posts day in and day out. But for other people that don't use the site as often as we do and don't know the threads inside out, when they see these more recent threads and see the responses that I'd say three quarters of the o/p's get, it will put them off even sticking a thread up, and that limits the amount of times you will see the conversions done, admittedly not like Casper's, I totally believe thats a one off, but lets say Andyp's charger conversion, thats not a million miles away from hopeful for some. There are people out there lucky enough to have the finances, if not the know how to do the job, but if they come on here for abit of expertise or advice then I feel the cynical responses in most of the threads will put people off even attempting it, I mean if you can't get advice from the people who live and breath these cars then its gonna take aero engineers to get the job done ain't it!! And you don't find too many of those rolling around in lupo's! Banter has its place, I know that as much as anyone, but abit more of a balance surely couldn't hurt. You see what I mean? I'm not gonna blow smoke up your ring mate but I do think what you say is pretty funny and you're sharp as a pack of pins, theres no questions there, but I think with your credentials in this forum if you spent as much time, or maybe a little extra time, giving advice that everyone knows that you can offer, and a little less time picking up on clangers that fresher members drop, then we'd probably get more creativity from, lets face it, the rich bitches that join up! I hope I haven't pushed your nose out of joint mate. I just want us all to get on and for the club to have some good times, great knowledge, and even better cars.
  6. Seriously Marcus, get out of my head!! 2 & 3 were my original thoughts!! Except the Vicki bit-see my number 1 statement........
  7. I'd love to have a drink with Kevin McCloud, no idea why, just seems like a real pleasant bloke to have a chat about pretty much owt with, him or Russell Brand because he has me in stitches with, well, basically everything, plus he might bring miss Perry along (gooood mooornin'!!). My ideal occupation would have to be an assassin, could live off a hit every few years depending on who it is obviously. Ideal super power.....to be able to talk my way out of any, and I mean ANY, compromising situation.
  8. Ooooooooooooooor, get the best of both worlds, stick a fridge in the back and keep it stocked up, that way you'll always have a nice cool drink in the back and the extra weight will just trim a few mm off your rear arch gap. My loop is dropped 120mm and at a show the other day I sat in the boot while eating my fish and chips and everyone was like 'look how sexy-low that loop is!!' I daren't get out for 10 minutes til I knew they'd gone as I didn't wanna disappoint them!

    Theme

Its a month away peoples!! Are we doing a theme? If so, what?!?
  10. I don't recall him actually mentioning anything about doing the job himself, and by going off your logic of 'using his head' to research it, then what exactly is it he's doing on here? Is he not researching it by asking questions, granted not very well, but still, he's asking the people who own the vehicles, and who have been members of the forum for a lot longer than he has, and the members who have been through the job themselves whether they used a kit if one is available, and if not then what would he need to take into consideration for the job and what kind of money he'd be looking at. Sounds fair enough to me. Although personally I would just advise him to read through the full build thread of John's project and then decide after all that whether it is something he wants, or more importantly can afford to get involved with. But fair play to John for giving him a ball park figure for his own one.
  11. To be fair tho I think some people are going to excel at that sort of thing, I mean John is an aeroplane engineer so whatever he does it has to be spot because mistakes cost lives really, so he's already really technically minded, some of us aren't quite so lucky!! This lad might be able to win against casper hands down in a cook off, not questioning your kitchen skills John, I'm just saying! People have their own talents and some may need help with things they aren't naturally gifted at and shouldn't be rebuked for it. That said, I feel the line of questioning this lad has used is abit..........gash, so I guess its ok, he'll learn!
  12. Focus peeps!! Poor me!!! There there petie.............and so forth.....

    Hello.

Yeah they're becoming rarer and rarer. I own a 6-speed but in all honesty I've driven both g/box types and prefer the 5-speed, just seems to me that when changing gears in the 6 you cog up and seem to be doing exactly the same revs as the gear you've shifted up from and with no real gain, I no the ratio's are totally different but its just in the mind really I suppose. But the 6 speed is definitely a very capable box and pulls well in every gear low and high revs. It'll feel alot different to your st tho! But they're bloody great fun and so chuckable!
  14. I'd say you could be right along the valve stem lines mate, doesn't look too bad but you'd need to clean up the tops of your pistons for a better idea, kinda hard to see under all the sludge.
  15. Hahaha!!...............oh I mean shhhh you!!!
  16. ^^^^^Now now mr, play nice!!! Count to 10.......

    Hello.

Yeah I love mine, saw one about this time last year and thought they looked cool and when my circumstances changed and I needed a more economical ride then the deal was done! Gets loads more attention than my a4 ever did, the only time people noticed it was when it was pulling hard on boost, but it was a total sleeper tho, just wish I could have that in my loop! Went to a track day yesterday and the time attack boys were there and hearing the turbo's whistle and the forced induction got me wanting a blower again!!
  18. Hello fella! Welcome aboard. Any jobs going over there?? One of my friends is shortly emigrating over and I'm uber jealous. Ironically he did say to me that he was glad that going over there meant he wouldn't see anymore puddle jumping lupo's sat in his rear view mirror anymore!! How wrong!?

    Hello.

Hello mate! Good choice! Where did you hear about the site?
  20. Scotty I was more relating the bitter/sweet thing to me, not to my loop! Just to clarify for those with no idea of the personification of cars.....cough....cough......Scotty, 'looked at the photo tent and everything to make sure and didn't spot another, which in one aspect gave me total exclusivity, which explains why my car got plenty of attention, but also made me feel kinda lonely'. Better mate?
  21. What exactly is the fault mate? Does the a/c not work at all? Can you hear the clutch engage when you put the a/c on or not??
