    Cheers mate… even if I don’t have the immobiliser code for the ecu….. which I don’t have, I believe it’s 7 digits

You could do with the immo code but I don't think it's needed if you have the original key.

    What ECU is it?

Good call @Skezza. I'd rather have a Lupo with no key instead of a key with no Lupo. 👍🏻😀 If you go to the next meet, we can talk there face to face...

Right now, they are pretty much secure because all the systems that I know of don't include Lupo on their list. People that can copy keys "commercially" need the car for a few hours- because they unsolder the memory chip to reprogram it...

I've copied keys on other vdubs and yes, you can do it in about 3 minutes. And you don't even need an original. So basically once you've broken into the car and your laptop is plugged in, you away in under 5 minutes.

I tested my method on a Polo 6N2 GTI. Friend of @mattarosa it still took me about 20-30 mins. No reprogramming of the EEPROM involved, just obtained the SKC and entered through the front door. So even for someone who knows how, it's not like a rapid hot wire job.

Now.... The Audi and Jetta? Different story. For the Audi, I was able to obtain the SKC in a matter of seconds using a £5 'specialist. cable.... Which I found out really quickly is just a bog standard KKL cable they sell on eBay. New key took me no more than 5 mins, sat on the drivers seat. All very comfortable.

The Jetta, I bought myself a key cloning device called Xhorse. A local shop quoted me £80. This device was £100 delivered. There's nothing like DIY plus you get to keep the tool of evil. It took less than 5 mins to clone the key lol.

The key side of things isn't the problem. It's getting the car to accept the ID chip in the key that's the issue.

By the looks of things, that device reads the data from the key- just like any of the id tag readers can - take dog or cat chips (same tech). But as far as i know, the chip can't be reprogrammed. It has a fixed built in serial number, just like a phone's EMEI code. Or MAC code or PUK code...

There is no easy way of doing this for a GTI. I spent 18 months researching, hacking, and finally cracking and while the solution was ultimately simple enough.... it wasn't that simple.... i.e. a fix in a can simple. There is no fix in a can for the Lupo GTI key situation.

We've discussed before the idea of posting my findings. I was fairly deep into a post before I decided to can it off. Last thing we need is Lupo's to start going missing.

    Hello

I have just read this subject which interests me and I am in the middle of it at the moment, indeed I have a Lupo which has not been equipped with remote centralization so I am snooping everywhere for information
to date I have equipped myself with a CCM 1C0 962 258N as well as 2 remote controls in 433MHz then 2 ID44/48 in order to program the keys for starting

then to be able to encode my id44/48 I took this box bought on aliexpress that I received today so I am progressing slowly but surely

Good luck with it. But I have little faith that it'll work.

What a monstrosity! Scrap value only. Why would you want to be seen in that?

Novelty factor? It's got all the hallmarks of a great buy though. No Logbook, the MOT run out on January 7th.......... 2021 and it hasn't been taxed since 2020. It runs and drives really well for a car that's covered in weird dog hair apparently.

    Someone find my cheque book.
