  1. Yeah, I can't bid because I haven't got a CoPart account but I reckon someone intending on rebuilding this should, it'd be a shame it break it. Just my opinion though.
  2. Ahh, are you saying the camera lies, because it looked real nice in the photos apart from the cracked bumper.
  3. It's gone up quite a lot now lol!
  4. Hey, I always assumed this meant the immobilizer was activated, but apparently this means the alarm is activated. I've tried absolutely everything in my power to get the bloody alarm to trigger and it just won't, so what does this light actually mean? Is it definitely an alarm?
  5. Well I'll be honest, from my experience, I find that if you want to listen to CD's, MP3's, Line-In, basically anything that isn't FM or AM radio, then an aftermarket head unit will usually blow anything OEM away. It's not that they are made better, but advances in technology and better software usually results in a more faithful reproduction of tone etc. However, if you listen to FM or AM, Volkswagen OEM style radios always seem to perform better. My BETA head unit definitely gets far better reception than anything aftermarket, especially FM. It is less of a problem with AM, however there is definitely a quality issue with that too. It's not Lupo specific either: http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79798 http://www.audiogroupforum.com/csforum/showthread.php?t=8752 http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32583-weak-radio-signal-compared-to-the-vw-autoradio/ I appreciate that some of these are using the more modern dual antenna, however http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/76015-no-reception/ By the way, the 'signal amplifier' which looks like a metal tube won't usually give the desired effect. It is actually meant to improve AM only.
  6. I think a How To based on the information provided by Rick should definitely be made. Also, a quick note should be made on the issues with taxing in the UK, especially as I'm really irritated at the fact I bought my SDI on the understanding I'd get £30, but I'm not eligible.
  7. Hey, I park most days of the week at Broadway Meadow Car Park in Wilmslow, when I go to work. It's a big car park which is why I didn't spot it before however there is a flash red slightly worse for wear Lupo 1.4 there most days of the week. I'm pretty sure the driver is a female but I've only seen it being driven away from a distance. If it's you, I drive the other flash red Lupo, it's an SDI I usually park on the other side of the car park. Oh and what the hell happened lol? How did your drivers side get in such a state lol, it's painful!

    LED Headlights

Got ya, will go for the Diamond Vision then. I think this thread should be written off to be honest, I certainly don't want anyone to buy those LED bulbs I linked up there. After I did a bit of research and read up on a bit, I realized you will never get them through an MOT, and also, I imagine they are dangerously dark. They give out a maximum of 450 Lumens and according to my mate who works at a test centre, a standard Lupo with standard headlights will fail it's MOT if it isn't giving out a minimum of 1000 Lumens. Although I assume they don't measure it, just do it by visual. So yep, **** that.

    LED Headlights

Ahh fair enough. I'll save myself the bother then. Replacement bulbs from the rear can be got in LED, and I've seen them, they look quite good, but with front lights being such a pig to change, LED's sounded perfect. I might give them a miss then. To be honest Joe, it was neither colour nor brightness, it was longevity, LED's can last for ages. However I might go for the Philips blue ones as they're quite fashionable too.

No, the side light one does, the one with a load more LED's says can be used as headlight.

    LED Headlights

Has anyone fitted these?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Car-H4-120-SMD-LED-Head-Light-Headlight-Bulb-Lamp-12V-/271082717702?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f1dca0206 and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-LED-BULB-CAR-LIGHT-WHITE-13-18-SMD-High-Power-Headlight-Fog-Light-/190679862798?pt=UK_Light_Bulbs&var=&hash=item2c6567ce0e Instead of using bulbs. You can get them in H4 and H7 so you could have them for both dipped and beam. Thoughts...
  12. I must admit, the price of Punto's is scary right now. Far cheaper than a Lupo, and most offer more features than the Lupo too.
  13. Howdy, So I've been driving a V-reg Lupo SDI ever since I wrote off my wonderful green machine. I figured I'd start taking notes of the economy figures of the Lupo SDI, considering it's a big selling point on fleaBay and I have to say I'm reasonably impressed. I miss the green machine, but I really like the SDI, except the big 200+ pound tax bill coming my way (DVLA thieving ****ers lol), it drives smoother, although it idles heavier and rougher. Week 1: 58MPG - Commuting to work, mainly 60Mph A-roads, however 2 days in which there was heavy traffic due to snow, so crawling. Week 2: 65MPG - Again 60Mph A-Roads, less problems with congestion, not much 'social' use. Week 3: 50MPG - Absolutely thrashing the arse off it through all gears, before I have it fully serviced + new cambelt. Week 4: 58MPG - Straight after service (new fuel pump, filters, oil, the whole whack), taking it mainly up to 70Mph rather than 60Mph. Week 5: 63MPG - Mainly 60Mph A-Roads again although a little bit of crawling too. These aren't bad figures considering I'm not doing motorway driving much now, not a single figure under 50MPG which is pretty decent in itself in my opinion. I still crave a Lupo 3L, but until then, I can live with the SDI I think!
  14. Yes it does, and once you've had one, you'll realize that as fashionable as they are... they wear very quickly and the pin holding the key starts to rattle. Go for the RightClick kits though, they're cheap and they seem to have all you need (excluding the knowledge, that's up to you )
  15. Not bad that isn't. Does that mean it gets a UK reg plate too? What's the rules on driving from one country to another in a car you've only bought but not insured? 3rd Party only?
  16. Yes a few people have done it using RightClicks kit. Apparently it's not that hard to fit if you have some experience. I don't, so It'd probably take me forever lol.
  17. That sucks man. I bought my SDI expecting 30 pound road tax, and instead, because it was registered before the date you mentioned, it's costing me £240 or something
  18. Don't touch them. They basically overfuel your car, up to 25% in some cases. Little performance boost and lots of fuel used unnecessarily so your MPG will drop. Do not touch.
  19. See how you get on with a Punto. Good cars, but they do have a habit of nailing head gaskets. I wish I'd spotted that MK3 Golf. I quite like MK3 golfs. Admittedly, not the nicest colour though.
  20. G-Wiz = 400Kg + a pretty light trailer I guess?
