  1. That is an excellent justification why not to get one on anything other than a TDi or perhaps GTi Cheers Al
  2. 1. When you say it's gone, you don't mean it's just cracking? Does the door actually blow in the wind? If you go to ebay, you can get them for about 40 quid a pair, probably check a scrappy for one. If it's cracking, it's fixable. 1a. Guide with regards to fixing or replacing? 2. Not sure. You need to be more descriptive. When you say vague? 2a. Same as above. 3. Same as above. How much did you pay for it? Did they knock you off anything for the check strap etc?
  3. No, but I don't think they'll look very good. Just my opinion.
  4. All in good time Ill throw a thread together eventually
  5. Lol, dude I wasn't meaning you, I just mean that Halfords tend to sell a lot of cheap and not so great mods (Fluffy dice, eyelashes, stickers, wheel badges, dirty chavvy mods) which people buy for some inexplicable reason lol. All very Barry. The cheap mods I go for are normally useful, some visual, but always surprise people and are not tacky Ultimately, a mod can be anything that isn't normal, and it doesn't necessarily need to be completely evident, so long as you're happy with it Maybe one day I'll get the coilover scene.
  6. To be honest Al, and I'm a descending voice I'm sure, I'm not convinced that coilovers are really necessary. I don't have anything against people fitting them of course, but personally, I wouldn't fit a set of coilovers to my car. Just my opinion though Al. I'm not knocking them, and I'm sure those who fit them are very happy, but I'm just not interested in that. It's slightly Barry, and really isn't that necessary is it? You might be a little bit surprised at my cheap mods. I buy mods that are useful, not aluminium radio antennas. You'd be surprised what you can buy for cheap that's useful. Not all mods have to be visual, some can be functional, and its good to look outside of the tacky section at Halfords I guess what I consider a useful mod, might not inspire yourself. This is where we question our Barry rating
  7. Hmmm, were you intending on rebuilding it? I'm not sure it'd actually be worth it, by the time you've bought parts + labour + there is no description of mileage. If it was for parts then unlucky
  8. I plan to do my own thread of cheap mods when I get round to it. My car is made up of quite cheap mods that people can't help but say they are either cool, or at least useful, and I don't do tat. You won't find a set of furry dice in my car! Don't blindly follow the £10 or cheap threads to the book, because one of the common ones is removing the rear wiper, which has to be one of the stupidest mods I've ever heard of. I'm not sure coilovers, even budget, can be considered cheap.
  9. That looks awesome!! Really great job. Why did you remove it? If you don't mind me asking...
  10. @ Jamie, Isn't that more likely to result in bubbles though? Especially on quite a curvey dash, like the Lupo has?
  11. I saw you again yesterday I think, driving through Congleton in the opposite direction. Nice wheels too
  12. Yep. Sounds exactly like my dads old Fiat about 10 years ago (doesn't have it anymore). Was blowing huge puffs of white smoke. Blown head gasket.
  13. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks this is utter ****. They've ruined a perfectly nice Lupo, in doing so making it look like a borderline cut and shut. Why would anyone do this? I was proud to drive my 1.0 E Lupo, WITH the Volkswagen badge. It looks dreadful. In fact, it looks like it's got the mumps. A big fat frontend that doesn't fit properly. The de-badge at the back looks terrible as well, but I guess that's because they didn't want a Volkswagen badge anywhere near their that Audi one.
  14. I got mine from Nicki probably four years ago, she might still have some if you message her
  15. To be honest, I would just fit a new working fan and scrap the switch. Why the **** would anyone have their fan on a switch anyway?
  16. You have far too much free time
  17. I'm probably wrong here, but it kind of sounds like the tickover might be a little low. I remember a friend who had an old Peugeot 306 that drove fine with 1 person in, but would regularly drop out with 2 or more. He took it into a garage, they increased the tickover a tiny bit, the problem went away.
  18. I bought 2 red Club Lupo stickers from Nicki years ago. I used one on the green machine and kept the second one in my draw. Since the green machine has now gone (RIP), I want to stick a new Club Lupo sticker on my new red Lupo. However, the sticker is red... the car is red. Any suggestions for where I can stick it without failing MOT or voiding insurance? I was thinking the black stripe on bottom of the rear window might be a good place. If not, I might just have to buy a black Club Lupo sticker but I don't know if Nicki still has any.
  19. My word, I'm spotting Lupo's left right and centre. Driving up a residential street in Wilmslow, I spotted a very nice black Lupo. Female driver. I couldn't tell if it had been lowered as I didn't really look properly. Very nice Lupo indeed!
  20. OK, 286 bulb. I've noticed you can buy LEDs or normal bulbs. Anyone experienced the LED ones? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T5-286-DASHBOARD-WEDGE-X-10-LED-CAR-LIGHT-SPEEDO-INSTRUMENT-ULTRA-BRIGHT-RED-/261180681068?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ccf94eb6c Would these be okay? 10 for £2.47 is super cheap, but I don't know what their output would be?
