  1. I had a GTI 2005 with 41000 on the clock, bought from vw das auto, one owner , it ended up being rotten underneath, vw themselves pointed it out, said it had been standing for too long with salt underneath, hence the low miles. I've seen this car for sale at the moment. I then got the GTI I have now at 77000 miles , one owner I checked throughly underneath all good, health checked by vw and they wanted to buy it off me. Condition is everything.

  2. I fitted them to my GTI which did not have the fixings in the B pillar. I bought the blind nuts from VW dealer (about £1.25 each). You have to drill the B pillar to accept these fittings. They are hexagonal in section behind the flange. I found that drilling the hole slightly undersized then tapping the fixing into the hole and giving it a slight turn (literally 5 or 10 degrees) with pliers locked it in place. It does not seam enough but it has worked for me. To set out the correct position of the holes I used my other car as a pattern - which is not too helpful for others I know! I think I have a photo of the holes I drilled which will indicate their position - they are not right in the middle of the depression in the B pillar metal so beware.

  3. You can fit them to any Lupo as long as it has the fixing in the B pillar, you can add them in but it's a more complicated job
